Is it really possible? How do you do it? What does it take and is that enough? I hear these questions all the time from friends, colleagues and clients. It seems impossible for some people to achieve top rankings on Google Search Result Pages. Most of the time, the reaction is, “Did you do that?” once they see the results I produce. So on this post, I’d like to answer these questions once and for all.

As generic as this title reads, I promise not to talk to you about “10 methods to make money on the Internet”. As a matter of fact, what we do is far from it. I’m not in the business of selling phony books for 30 or so dollars and what we do does not take $30, but rather thousands of dollars.

Designing and promoting your website usually includes discussions about imagery, textual content, SEO, sitemaps, home pages and internal and external linking. Conversion, of course, is discussed usually in terms of a “call to action.” However, precious little time is given to the real basics of selling. The internet and web sites haven’t changed anything about the way real people think, act, react and make decisions.

It is a question that a lot of people ask.To have a better understanding about why spammers spam, you have to look into the benefits of spam.Just like a Home Burglar, there is a financial aspect to their career decision 99% of the time.

Spammers are people too. They have monetary needs like everyone else from a purse snatcher to a kidnapper. They act in a way that has become an annoyance to millions of people. It is estimated that 80% of the email traffic that is received around the world is spam. That is a lot. It cripples the internet, and wastes millions of business dollars, and lots of time.

Let’s dig deeper into a spammers world, and we will find out that what lies ahead is psychologically and mathematically devious. It’s the true un-filtered world of the marketers and a numbers game, that when played long enough, you can win.

Why I obsess over Web Standards

I was recently reading an article on how Microsoft dropped the ball on developers and why several of them started to switch over to MAC OS X. Then I realized that the problem with Microsoft is that it represents the global large corporate mentality, mediocrity and lack of innovations. This is why Google is #1 and this is why no matter how much money a large company throws at the small competition, they can’t keep up.

It’s a legitimate question and has always been. “Should I outsource my Internet Marketing or do it in house?” In my career of almost 8 years, I’ve been asked this question many times.

It is clear that paid search or PPC, the ads that appear above and to the right of Google Search pages, continues to grow. While this clearly benefits Google, what does this mean for PPC advertisers and what do this mean for you?

Internet Search … So What Now, Microsoft?

If Microsoft has walked away from Yahoo for good, and I think they should, it will be a blessing. Over 40 billion dollars for a name brand is what it amounts to. Yahoo had the world by the tail at the beginning of the decade. The clear leader in all things internet and they just plain blew it! What can be a better testament to inept, egocentric and out-of-touch management than Jerry Yang’s playing hardball with Microsoft without an ounce of justification; he just gave away as much as 50% of the value of the deal for no reason that anyone can muster. In fact, his actions over the past 3 months are downright irresponsible as he actually and willfully destroyed share holder value with the sole objective of thwarting Microsoft’s takeover.

I just completed a phone conversation with someone who I originally talked with last week after he filled in a form on our website specifically asking about our Ecommerce packages and our SEO Services. I had provided him with some basic information and followed through with an email with links to specific pages / content on our website that were relevant to our conversation.
